#18 Go to a winery that you haven't been to

When David and I were in San Francisco, we rented a car and drove out to Napa. We first visited the Hess Collection Winery. They have a great art collection featuring Francis Bacon, Robert Rauschenberg, and Frank Stella, among others. We did a tasting there but weren't too excited about any of the wines we tried.

Next we visited Domaine Chandon, part of the same company as Moet et Chandon (all owned by Louis Vuitton). We did the tour and learned how to officially open a bottle of champagne (untwist the wire 6 turns, then twist the bottle while holding the cork).

We did get to sample some of their sparkling wine in the shop but the tasting room was mobbed and we weren't able to do a full sampling. I liked what I tasted though and hope to sample more in the future.

#19. Go on a full-fledged picnic.

We took Cora on her first picnic with much success. She had such a good time running around and laying down to look at the clouds. We did not go far for the occasion, just up to Morrow Mountain State Park. This has made me realize that I should do this with Cora more often. She had a great time and it cost us nothing. Plus, it was quite relaxing for me and Curtis. We ate cheese and crackers, yogurt, watermelon, homemade bread, and fresh plums. Yummy!
